Dwelled since the Paleolithic, Archidona has inside of it tens of places in which it is possible to recall the historic splendor of the city. Especially in the Muslim period, in fact, Archidona has a sublime Andalusia legacy.

Especially in the Muslim period, in fact, Archidona has a sublime Andalusia legacy. The election of a strategic location to found a population, usual in ancient civilizations, is demonstrated once again in the case of Archidona. It is located in the center of Andalusia: cross of ways that links Granada, Seville and Malaga. The urban center is at 50 kilometers of Malaga city and at 20 from Antequera. The urban center was being outlined at the bottom of the Pico del Conjuro (1.012 meters), as a watchtower, from which it can be dominated a great part of the Nororma region. From the natural environment of Archidona we must highlight two important places: the sickle of the stream Marín and the Natural reserve of the pool of Archidona.
